Beryl Chsnutt
Beryl Chesnut, a Montgomery artist creates art out of cast off and recyclable objects. Beryl was raised in Snowdoun, Alabama on Hobbie Farm and grew up in the Montgomery area. Starting late in life Beryl graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. She has been an active member of the Clean City Commission in Montgomery for the past six years. Being involved in recycling has a lot to do with the medium in which she creates her artwork. Beryl renovated an old crumbling dance studio on Highland Avenue and turned it into her working studio and gallery. She loves working in this space where she also paints welds and works in clay. Beryl’s mother, Mary Sternfeld, who is also an artist , has been a big influence
